It’s important that you let me know whether you are a private buyer or a commercial
buyer so that I can determine the applicable usage rights and the copyright assignments.
Commercial buyers, on the other hand, may want to use an illustration as an advertisement
or to support a product or a service on an on-going basis. If so, licensing may have
to be taken into account.
Also, you might have an idea to commission me to paint or illustrate something in
particular whereby you will then have the artwork professionally printed, perhaps
as a limited edition run, in order to offset the cost of the original artwork. You
can only do this legally with my written permission. The Drunken Snoring Chicken
was used in this way.
Artwork Commission types undertaken
In order to keep things simple I have categorised the different types of commissioned
artwork that I can do for you into the following pages:
These pages will give you all the basic information you need to request a commission
from me.
Knowing what you need for commissioned artwork
If you know exactly what you require then all I really need is an email of instructions
plus supporting photographs and a contact telephone number for the UK. I will use
these details to determine whether I can take on your artwork requirements and in
the time scale that you you specify.
Do you need help and advice in choosing what you would like to commission?
If you like the idea of commissioning me (Edward McNaught-Davis) to paint, illustrate,
cartoon or draw for you but you are unsure as to what you would like then please
feel free to contact me to discuss your idea in greater detail. There’s absolutely
no obligation to purchase and all correspondence remains confidential and secure.
