Cartoon Commission types

I accept Cartooning commissions for a variety of subjects and themes.

Cartooning Materials

All cartoons are hand drawn with pen or brush and ink on suitable paper or card. Spot colour can be applied or the whole cartoon may be coloured depending upon your requirements.

Painting Size and Style

The painting sizes can be very small to quite large. Similarly I can paint in a loose style or the finished artwork can be very detailed depending upon your requirement. My black and white commissioned cartoons may give you some ideas as well as my colour cartoons.

Discussing Your Requirements

I am happy to meet you in person or I can take your instructions solely via email and with accompanying photographs that you have taken yourself. Please see “What I will need from You” below.

Pricing Overview

Any pricing I give you will be for the cartoon commission only unless specifically stated otherwise. All finished cartoons will be unframed. Additional costs such as any travel and secure shipping will be agreed with you in advance and may be billed separately.

Commission prices start from £75. Pricing will take into account many variables such as the size and medium preferred, any deadlines and whether or not you have supplied me with either a requirement specification and/or a photograph. Consideration on usage rights will be taken into account too.

Payment in full will be required to initiate any commissioned cartoon for you.

Quoted prices by email will be held for a minimum of 30 days allowing you a reasonable period of time to make up your mind on whether to proceed with the cartoon commission. After that prices may be subject to change.

What I will need from You

Initially, all I will need is an email outlining your requirements with at least one photograph to act as a visual reference. It would be useful to receive your UK land-line telephone number too plus any preferences on the best time(s) to call you to discuss your requirements further.

When outlining your requirements it would be useful to know basic details such as whether the cartoon should be in black and white or with spot colour or in full colour, an approximate paper/card size, what the cartoon is for and when you would like the cartoon to be finished and delivered to you and by what shipping means.

Cartoon Production and Delivery

Once I have understood and agreed to do your cartoon commission, I will ask you to pay me in full. As soon as your payment has cleared I will begin to fulfil your order as I deem fit from your instructions. As soon as your order is complete, I will then ship the cartoon to you by secure means. You should choose to use this level of service if you are happy for me to interpret your requirements without any further collaboration from yourself once I begin to cartoon for you. If you feel you would like to have better control over the cartoon production then perhaps you should consider my commission digital illustration services instead.
