Inspirational Art 4u - Inspirational Artwork Pictures by the inspired artist Edward McNaught-Davis
I accept Digital Illustration commissions for a variety of subjects and themes.
I use Serif’s DrawPlus X2 plus various other software tools and suites.
The Digital Illustration sizes can be very small to quite large and can include Vector drawings in native format. Similarly, I can digitally illustrate in a loose style or the finished artwork can be very detailed depending upon your requirement. My digital illustration samples may give you some ideas.
I maintain three levels of service to suit your budget and as explained below.
I am happy to meet you in person but it is much easier to take your instructions solely via email and with accompanying photographs that you have taken yourself. Please see “What I will need from You” below.
Any pricing I give you will be for the digital illustration commission only unless specifically stated otherwise. All finished digital illustrations are normally sent by email.
Commission prices start from £45 for a simple black and white line portrait in jpeg or jpg format. Pricing will take into account many variables such as the size and colour preferences, the line preferences, any deadlines and whether or not you have supplied me with either a requirement specification and/or a photograph. Consideration on usage rights will be taken into account too.
Payment in full (for Service Level 1) or a non refundable deposit (for Service Level 2 and Service Level 3) will be required to initiate any commissioned painting for you.
Quoted prices by email will be held for a minimum of 30 days allowing you a reasonable period of time to make up your mind on whether to proceed with the commission. After that prices may be subject to change.
Initially, all I will need is an email outlining your requirements with at least one photograph to act as a visual reference. It would be useful to receive your UK land-line telephone number too plus any preferences on the best time(s) to call you to discuss your requirements further.
When outlining your requirements it would be useful to know basic details such as your preferred colour and or line emulation, an approximate finished digital illustration size, what the digital illustration is for and when you would like the illustration to be finished and delivered to you.
This level of service is simple and straight forward. It involves little interaction between you and me. It is the cheapest level of service too. Once I have understood and agreed to do your commission, I will ask you to pay me in full and as soon as your payment has cleared I will begin to fulfil your order as I deem fit. As soon as your order is complete, I will then email the digital illustration to you. You should choose to use this level of service if you are happy for me to interpret your requirements without any further collaboration from yourself once I begin to digitally illustrate for you.
This level of service is more involved and will incorporate some interaction between you and me once I start to digitally illustrate for you. Initially, I will require a 60% non refundable deposit of the total price to commence the artwork for you. I will inform you as soon as the artwork is finished and I will email you digital photos of the same. You may request simple and reasonable changes to the composition if need be and only if in my view they are feasible to do. Once you are happy with the finished product I will request that the balance of 40% is paid prior to emailing it to you. You should choose this level of service if you feel you may want the option of tweaking some element in the finished composition.
This level of service is very involved and will allow you to steer/control the digital illustration much more than the other two levels of service. It is the most expensive option of service too. Initially, I will require a 30% non refundable deposit to commence the artwork for you. This is known as Stage 1. After that I will lay in the basic composition to your requirements and will apply some background colour and/or shading and maybe some detail too so that you can see roughly how the picture will look. I will then invite you to suggest any changes to perhaps suit your requirements better. Irrespective of whether any changes are required, I will then ask you to pay another 30% of the total price to move to stage 2. This second stage will involve continuing with the digital illustration as we both think fit and perhaps incorporating any requested changes and until the digital illustration is finished. Stage 3 involves you paying the balance of 40% and taking the completed digital illustration. The advantages to you of going through a staged process include you being able to buy into the control of the digital illustration plus having the option of cancelling the order at the end of any given stage. And if you did cancel for whatever reason, you would be able to keep the incomplete artwork. You should choose this option if you have a particular requirement that will involved the precise placement of detail to make the picture work for you in a specific manner.
