“Cardigan”
Oil Pastel on Paper
210 mm x 297 mm
(8.27 x 11.69 inches)
Price: GBP 65.00
About the Painting: “Cardigan”
Cardigan is a small coastal town in Ceredigion (Cardiganshire), West Wales. It sits
adjacent to the Teifi estuary. There are some interesting nooks and crannies in Cardigan
but all let down by drab colouring unlike Tenby. This townscape painting of Wales
is an artistic impression of how a street could be enhanced with friendlier colours!
In fact many Welsh coastal villages and small towns would benefit from a lick of
paint! Why not commission me to paint your favourite town on canvas or on paper.
“Tenby”
Acrylic on Canvas
508 mm x 407 mm
(20 x 16 inches)
FRAMED
About the Painting: “Tenby”
Tenby is a coastal town in South Pembrokeshire (South West Wales). It is steeped
in history too with medieval and Venetian influences. Most of the old town is still
wrapped behind castle walls from the 11th Century. This townscape painting of Wales
shows the small beach within the harbour area. Tenby is the artist’s favourite coastal
town. For a closer view of the harbour you should see the “Tenby Harbour” painting
under the Boats page. My Llandovery Roof Tops painting shows a similar perspective
to this Tenby one.
“St. David’s, Lampeter”
Pen, Ink + Crayon on Paper
297 mm x 210 mm
(11.69 x 8.27 inches)
Price: 75.00
About the Painting: “St. David’s, Lampeter”
This townscape painting shows a part of the University of Wales in Lampeter. The
building itself is called “St. David’s”. The painting is meant to be half way between
an illustration and a photograph. I have a small stock of hand-made prints, known
as Glicees, for this painting. If you would like one then please get in touch with
me. Cardigan is a less sombre painting with a larger range of colours used from my
palette.
“Llandovery Roof Tops”
Acrylic on Canvas Panel
250 mm x 180 mm
(9.76 x 7.13 inches)
Price: GBP 155.00
About the Painting: “Llandovery Roof Tops”
The composition shows the Eastern roof top view of Llandovery as seen from atop of
the castle mound and which you will find at the far end of this ancient town’s car
park. I accentuated all the colours to make the picture come alive. Many acrylic
glazes were used to reach the desired effect. I added people and cars to the picture
to add more interest. If you enjoy flight views then please see my aerial painting
of The Flying Ace. You might also like to see the boats page for further house displays.
