“Stream at Llanina”
Acrylic on Paper
257 mm x 190 mm
(10.12 x 7.48 inches)
Price: GBP 115.00
About the Painting: “Stream at Llanina”
There are many hidden faces of people and animals in this water painting but you’d
have to either buy it or purchase a large print of it to see them clearly. This painting
of water is adjacent in composition to the woodland painting of “Two trees at Llanina”.
The viewpoint is from a small road bridge which can be seen in a wild flower painting
called “Llanina Bridge”.
“Tregaron Bog”
Acrylic on Canvas
254 mm x 203 mm
(10.00 x 8.00 inches)
Price: GBP 135.00
About the Painting: “Tregaron Bog”
Tregaron Bog is better known as Cors Caron in Welsh. It is a nature reserve with
designated walking areas for visitors. The land itself is believed to be Europe’s
oldest peat bog. You can still see square holes in the peat where slabs of the fuel
were cut out and carted away in days gone by. This particular water painting was
achieved “alla prima” and all on a New Year’s day! Not far from this water painting
scene is where I painted “Cors Caron Cows”.
“Ford at Dole”
Acrylic on Paper
160 mm x 247 mm
(6.30 x 9.72 inches)
Price: GBP 85.00
About the Painting: “Ford at Dole”
There is nothing spectacular about Dole, near Aberystwyth, other than the water scene
captured here. It is just a small river with a shallow part to allow local traffic
to cross it hence the title “Ford at Dole”. I was inspired to capture the diminishing
sunset light leaking through the foliage. If you like silhouetted water paintings
of this nature then you might like the abstract landscape painting, “Cwmmynach Boundary
Brook”.
“River below CAT”
Acrylic on Paper
253 mm x 213 mm
(9.96 x 8.39 inches)
Price: GBP 95.00
About the Painting: “River below CAT”
The term “CAT” is used locally to describe the “Centre for Alternative Technology”
near Aberystwyth, Mid West Wales. The water painting shown here can be found just
below the car park at “CAT”. Another river scene you might like to view is called
“Inverted Lights” on the abstract landscape paintings page. Alternatively, the waterfall
paintings of Wales may be of interest to you. And if you cannot find what you want
then how about commissioning me to paint a water painting for you?
“Lake Kilarney”
Watercolour on Paper
256 mm x 172 mm
(10.10 x 6.77 inches)
Price: GBP 75.00
About the Painting: “Lake Kilarney”
Lake Kilarney is situated at Muckross in Eire (South West Ireland). It is part of
“The Ring of Kerry”. This water painting was achieved on location. Fast painting
techniques were used to capture the spiritual lighting seeping through the clouds
and reflecting back off the water. The mist from the lake added to the overall effect
and it seemed to want to blend the distant mountains in with the clouds. Another
painting with a captured misty haze is called “Ffynnonddewi Sunset”.
